Two Types Of Missing Person

We would like to make it clear there are two types of missing person that are commonly dealt with throughout the UK and abroad by missing person agencies.

Trace Person

This is normally a debtor or witness. As leading Trace Agents, we receive many instructions from firms of solicitors looking to trace debtors or locate witnesses each month.

Missing Person

Often a family member or partners, there is the missing person (known within the profession as the "misper"). Missing persons are not classed (as far as Longmere are concerned) as a standard case.

Often a missing person does not want to be found and will never be located on a database. They are often living rough and are deliberately hiding thus making the location of this missing person hard. Alternatively a missing person may have been taken against their will or in a worst case scenario murdered.

Finding a Missing Person

Find a missing person is often hard – both in practise and on the people looking for them. At Longmere Consultants, we provide many strengths in the search for a missing person. These include:

  • Over 20 years’ experience investigating missing person cases through various public & private companies and agencies.
  • If required we will attend the home of the missing person, speak with the family and obtain a full understanding of the enquiry.
  • We will attend the last known location that the subject was seen before they went missing, speak with witnesses and where possible obtain professional witness statements.
  • We will provide a forensic analysis of mobile telephone and computers that the missing person left behind, to see who the subject was speaking to and what about. We will attempt to recover deleted data such as text messages, photographs and e-mails.
  • No matter where in the world we have our own investigators to provide a professional quick response when necessary, as time is critical with these enquiries.
  • We will assist the client to provide evidence which will allow the Police to re-examine a missing person case or to assist the family to consider a private prosecution.
